When your voice or cough won't settle, even after you've been told nothing's wrong.

Voice therapy and chronic cough treatment with a licensed speech-language pathologist who also understands how stress, tension, and the nervous system show up in the body.

Does this sound familiar?

  • A cough that has lasted months, and inhalers, reflux meds, or allergy treatment haven't fixed it

  • A voice that tires, cracks, or strains by the end of the day

  • A tight, effortful, or "stuck" feeling in your throat when you talk

  • Your voice disappeared or changed and your scope came back "normal"

  • Throat clearing you can't stop, or a tickle that sets off coughing fits

  • Sudden episodes of tight throat or hard-to-get-air breathing, especially with exercise, scents, or stress

If you've been referred by an ENT, you're in the right place. If you haven't had your throat examined yet, start there. I'm happy to point you to someone.

Why a mind-body approach?

The muscles of the throat respond to stress, bracing, and old protective habits like any other muscles. That doesn't make your symptoms "all in your head." They're real, physical, and trainable.

While its important to treat the mechanics. I believe in treating the mechanics and the context: the anxiety that tightens things up, the frustration of being dismissed, and the daily patterns that keep the cycle going.

What to expect

  1. Evaluation (60 min). We review your ENT findings, history, and daily voice use, and I assess breathing, voice, and throat tension.

  2. Therapy (typically 4–8 sessions). Practical techniques: cough suppression and control strategies, laryngeal relaxation, breath and voice retraining, and ways to catch the pattern before it starts.

  3. Carryover. Short daily practice so the changes hold outside the session.

Many people notice change within a few weeks. I'll keep your ENT updated with your permission.
